If you’re looking for an unusual hotel experience, they don’t get much stranger than these underground destinations. I’d never thought about staying underground until I was visiting Australia – a small place called Coober Pedy, halfway between Alice Springs and Adelaide – where the temperature was 95ºF, and people lived underground.
But any fans of The Lord of the Rings would know this is a must see destination.
A little Hobbit hole of your very own, fresh with tea, Hobbit ham and honey, berries and biscuits, Bangers and mash, scones and clotted cream, and if you’re lucky...Elven Lembas bread.
Along with that comes the local culture; meaning friendly people up for a good time! You can visit the Great Barrier Reef and go for a swim, or you see the Uluru, a sacred Australian rock formation, and finally, you could visit the Great Ocean Road (a coastal route with sights); You’ll prance and mingle (as long as all that food settles).
But, once again, nothing compares with the astounding creatures and fractures you’ll find. Wildlife beyond imagine (something out of Narnia, I bet). And the rock sculptures seem like they rose from Poseiden himself. Photographers and aficionados would relish these views.
Which will keep you fulfilled for the long journey ahead...specifically all the great hiking and walking you can do! Not to mention the amazing views. That’s not to discount the athletic, there are plenty of biking and hiking on this wondrous adventure.
Ultimately, this is the most astounding, fun, and inspiring vacation you’ll have; please take the journey and enjoy yourself!
