I have a confession to make. At most of the really luxurious hotels I stay in, I don’t pay the bills. I’m strictly there on business, even if I do take the opportunity to indulge. I have what I suppose is an average income, and I wouldn’t have thought I could dive!
Seriously, diving in Sangat Island Dive Resort is the best! My husband, my two kids Loved it! Seeing the ocean from that point of view was nothing I have ever seen before.
My children liked the reefs while scuba diving. Particularly because there’s clown fish, like Nemo. But, there are many others. Including sharks. But, don’t worry nothing too frightening. In fact, these sharks are rather docile.
Besides the underwater sea-life there’s also a lot to explore. As a part of the Philippines it has gorgeous waterfalls and secluded inlets, perfect for a family get-a-way or a romantic moonlit swim; Kayangan Lake and the Twin Lagoons were top picks of mine. But, for something historic I’d go for the Sunken Japanese Ships. Perhaps a bit morose but an interesting piece of history nonetheless.
Honestly it’s difficult to pick a favorite part.....but it was the food! The adobe, longginsa, or kare-kare. Sure they might sound exotic, but they’re made from meats and veggies we eat everyday....except better! These dishes were the result of English, Spanish, and Asian influence; and trust me they are not to be missed (neither is the whole pig roast they do weekly). For the swimming enthusiast, for the history enthusiast, and for the culinary enthusiast: Pantag is not, I repeat not to be missed.
