The Alpina Gstaad, Switzerland

The Alpina Gstaad, Switzerland

Have you ever wondered where billionaires go on vacation? The Alpina Gstaad is one of the world’s most luxurious hotels and you certainly need money to stay there—I only got to look around it because I was there for a business event—but I have to say, from what I saw, It’s easy to get lost in the luxury.

You truly need to see this five-star resort first hand to understand the beauty of it. Whether you visit during the winter or summer season, the views are simply breathtaking. The hotel is nestled into a valley surrounded by either snowy mountain peaks or verdant rolling hills depending on the season. The motif of the building itself is rustic and woody which goes perfectly with the remote mountainous terrain. However, opulence and luxury is always at the forefront. Room rates start around $1000 and you are guaranteed to not be disappointed

The giant entrance begins your journey into the resort. I was amazed by the fantastic flower arrangements they maintain there. The attention to detail is maintained throughout the entire hotel. The Six Senses Spa was heavenly and included a sauna, hammam, a colonic hydrotherapy room, and Jacuzzis. There was an outdoor and indoor pool, although calling them pools is an understatement of their appearance. The pools are more like artistic installations than a common lap pool. They also have an unusually well-equipped gym for any of your work out needs.

I did get to take a tour of one of the available rooms and it indeed looked fantastic. You could easily spend your entire stay inside your room with all the advantages it brings. But you would be missing out on the terrific views available around the hotel grounds. The hotel itself is beautiful and looks right at place in the mountain valley. The food available here is very good. The Summit Restaurant there was both delicious and very accommodating. You may ask for any modifications to your food and the chefs there were all too happy to oblige.

If money was not an issue you should definitely consider staying a night or a week at the Alpina Gstaad in Switzerland. You will not be disappointed.
